Eudald Carbonell i Roura

(Ribes de Freser, 1953) Chair and principal investigator of the Human Auto-Ecology of the Quaternary Group at Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona, Spain). Director of the Catalan Institute of Human Paleo-Ecology and Social Evolution (IPHES) and Co-Director of the archaeological sites around Atapuerca (Burgos, Spain). The group of archaeologists doing research there received the Príncipe de Asturias Prize for Scientific and Technical Research (1997). Author, amongst many other popular science and scientific books, of Planeta Humà (Human Planet; Empúries, Barcelona, 2000) and Encara no som humans (Not Yet Human; Empúries, Barcelona, 2002; German translation published by P&P as Noch sind wir keine Menschen, 2010), both co-written with Robert Sala; as well as of La consciència que crema (Burning Conscience; ara, Badalona, 2008).
