Helmut Niemeyer

(Bielefeld, 1931) Wanted to become a graphic artist at first. One term at the Hamburg State Academy of Fine Arts were enough to persuade him that he had rather read and write. Studied German and Latin philology at Freiburg and Göttingen, taught until 1994 (from 1970 to 1975 at the German School Barcelona). Contributions to several reviews (mainly “Frankfurter Hefte” and “tranvía”). For one and a half decades, Marginalien (Marginal Notes) in “Merkur.” P&P have gathered them in one volume which will be published both in Catalan and in German.
