Robert Sala i Ramos

(Salt, 1963) Professor for Prehistory at Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona, Spain).He is a specialist of the first stages of human occupation of Europe and has been working for many years at the archaeological sites around Atapuerca (Burgos, Spain). The group of archaeologists doing research there received the Príncipe de Asturias Prize for Scientific and Technical Research (1997). Author, amongst various popular science and scientific publications, of Planeta Humà (Human Planet, 2000) and Encara no som humans (Not Yet Human, 2002; German translation published by P&P, 2010), both written jointly with Eudald Carbonell.
