Teresa Vinardell i Puig

(Barcelona, 1963)

Studies of Anglogerman Philology (specialty German) and PhD on E.T.A. Hoffmann (1997), both at Barcelona University. Has taught German language and literature at Seville, Barcelona and Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona) Universities. Currently a Professor at the Facukty of Humanities, Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona).

Her main areas of research are issues of literary reception and of representing the body in literauture.

Has translated from German into Catalan, and occasionally into Spanish, authors such as Friedrich Schiller (Escrits dramatúrgics, Barcelona: L’Avenç/Institut de Teatre 1986), Robert Walser (Jakob von Gunten. Un dietari, Barcelona: Quaderns Crema 1999; and El quadern de Fritz Kocher, Barcelona: Quaderns Crema 2000); and Ernst Jandl (Pieza parasitaria, in: Art teatral. Cuadernos de minipiezas ilustradas, XIX, 22, Valencia 2007).

German Romanticism; autobiographic literature; and contemporary poetry in German.

Has translated Robert Walser’s Jakob von Gunten and Fritz Kochers Aufsätze into Catalan (both published by Quaderns Crema).
