Maximiliano Luchini

(La Plata, Argentina, 1970)

Active since 1991 in several fields of illustration, lives in Barcelona since 1998.

His drawings appeared in magazines such as Letras Libres (Mexiko/Spain), Tretze-Vents and Tatano (Barcelona), Rifi-Rafe (Palma de Mallorca); Billiken, Playboy and Clarín Revista (both Argentina); or Tobbogan, Toupi and Manon of publisher Milan Presse at Toulouse.

His comic Federico was part of the international anthology of black and white comics with no text Comix 2000 (L’Association, Paris, 1999); Mauricio appeared in Spirou, the Belgian magazine. He currently co-directs Mamut, a series of comics for kids (Bang Ediciones, Barcelona, seit 2007).

He designed three wristwatches for Swatch collections autumn-winter 2000/01 and spring-summer 2002, respectively.

Among his published books are ¿Qué puedes tú hacer en mi circo? (What can you do in my circus?), text by Georgina Roo (Pequeño Editor, Buenos Aires, 2006), which was awarded the ALIJA prize for best Illustrations and best graphics project; the Morris el mapache (Morris the Racoon) series, written by Gabriela Keselman (SM, Madrid); the 12-book Els Bum-Bum (The Bum-Bums) series, script by Montse Ginesta (Montserrat Abbey, Barcelona) and El maputxe sense ombra (The Mapuche Without a Shadow), text by Ramon Girona (Montserrat Abbey, Barcelona, 2004, translated into German by Christa Pabst and published by P&P, 2010).
